Own the Fight!
In a paper titled “The Future Navy,” Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson said, “The pace at which potential competitors are moving demands that we in turn increase the speed at which we act. Our advantage is shrinking — we must reverse this trend.”
Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) is one of five of the Navy’s Warfighting Development with a mission to increase the lethality and tactical proficiency of the Surface Force across all domains.
This video provides context to the SMWDC mission, shows the contributions of the SMWDC team in 2018, and reinforces the importance of a lethal, ready, and capable Surface Fleet in an Era of Great Power Competition.
SMWDC is actively seeking Surface Warfare Officers to join the fight by applying to the Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program at SWO_WTI@Navy.mil.
