The Execution Of The Last Female Prisoner Of Auschwitz
Throughout World War 2 inside of Auschwitz Concentration Camp there were many executions carried out. The final set of female prisoner executions came following the Sonderkommando Revolt, as a number of women were accused of smuggling weapons for the uprising. Ala Gertner was a Polish woman who suffered heavily at the hands of the Germans as they invaded and occupied her hometown during the first day of the war. But she was then imprisoned inside of Auschwitz and weeks before the camp was liberated she was executed on the gallows there for smuggling gunpowder to the rebels.
