Grenadiers and a Fusiliers
The bearskin cap of a British Grenadier is among their most distinctive features- but not every soldier with the bearskin was actually a grenadier! In some instances, such as the 23rd Regiment (the Royal Welch), every soldier would (at least on paper) be wearing a bearskin as well. So how could one distinguish a grenadier of the Royal Welch with a hat-company man? What did it even mean to be a fusilier? What did they do, and why did this distinguish them from other regiments?
