Conscription Crisis | April 1918
With Allied casualties mounting on the Western front due to the German Spring Offensive, in June of 1918 Britain moved to introduce conscription to Ireland. Over the next few months there would be a series of rallies by those in Ireland opposed to this, most notably Sinn Féin who were linked to the 1916 Rising and had began to challenge the dominant Irish Parliamentary Party.
