Rollo the Viking was exiled from Norway and known as “The Walker,” as he was banished from his homeland, and began wandering in search of a new home. Rollo’s wanderings led him to the Frankish shores, where he negotiated the historic Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, earning land and power while bringing peace to the region. This new territory, shaped by Viking settlers and Frankish customs, gave rise to the Normans, a formidable people who would leave their mark on Europe. Generations later, Rollo’s descendant, William the Conqueror, would carry this legacy across the Channel, forever changing the course of English and European history.
