Training for Iraqi Soldiers
U.S. Soldiers with the 101st Airborne Division and Spanish Special Forces provide Air Assault training for Iraqi soldiers from the Baghdad Operations Command (BOC).
The Air Assault training was a three week course designed to train BOC soldiers tactical and safe exfiltration by rotary wing aircraft, tactical maneuver while dismounted and conduct planning with Iraqi aviation for air movement to the objective.
The training ends with a live-fire exercise utilizing aircraft, fire and maneuver and small unit tactics. Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Iraq (CJSOTF-I) works by, with, and through partner forces to defeat Daesh in designated areas of Iraq and Syria, and sets conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability.
